GPNA's criminal practice extends to both State and Federal courts, and includes jury trial experience in serious felonies and misdemeanors. Many people, once charged with a crime, do not realize the range of options that may be available to them without consultation with a good defense attorney. Defending yourself, or pleading guilty without representation, can result in serious long-term consequences. Our criminal defense team has been very successful in defending their clients and providing them with the best possible results, whether through trial or plea bargaining. Criminal charges usually consist of one or more of the following classes of offenses:

Felonies: Felonies are considered the most serious offenses and typically carry a penalty of incarceration of anywhere from one year to life, or the death penalty for a capital offense, and/or a serious fine.

Misdemeanors: Usually considered a less serious or minor offense and punishable by a fine or incarceration in local confinement. The maximum penalty for the more serious Class 1 misdemeanor offenses is one year in the county jail and/or a $1,000 fine. For the less serious Class 2 misdemeanor offenses, the maximum incarceration is up to 30 days in the county jail and/or a $200 fine.

If you are in need of defense, or have questions about an offense, please contact our criminal defense team to learn more about your options before you face the court.
