Jason M. Smiley

Jason M. Smiley is a partner of Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson & Ashmore, LLP. He practices in the areas of construction law, real estate, banking law, creditors' rights, bankruptcy, and wide range of civil practice in South Dakota and Wyoming.

Jason was born and raised in Rapid City where he lives with his wife, Darby and their children. Jason has been and continues to be involved in many local civic and community organizations in the Rapid City area including YMCA Kids Campaign, Black Hills Homebuilders Association, Canyon Lake United Methodist Building Committee, Junior Achievement, and Rapid City Jaycees.

Jason earned his B.A. from Black Hills State University with honors and received his J.D. from the University of Wyoming where he was recognized for his accomplishments as Outstanding Trial Student and as the Defender Aid Program's Outstanding Student. After law school he worked as Law Clerk for the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of South Dakota and was involved with the teen court program. Jason is a member of The State Bar of South Dakota, the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, the Wyoming State Bar, and the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association.
